Audit working papers organized for engagement planning

Process

From first conversation to signed report

This page maps the stages of our flagship financial statement audit so finance teams know what to prepare and when decisions land.

  1. Engagement discussion. We learn your year-end, lender or group deadlines, prior auditor status, and known accounting issues. If independence is impaired, we stop here.
  2. Proposal and letter. Scope, fee, deposit, and fieldwork windows are written into an engagement letter. Peak season slots require the deposit to hold dates.
  3. Planning and request list. You receive a document request tailored to revenue, inventory, cash, and related parties. We schedule inventory observation if stock is material.
  4. Fieldwork. On-site or hybrid testing of balances, inquiries with process owners, and follow-up on exceptions. Open items are tracked daily with your finance lead.
  5. Draft discussion. Proposed adjustments and control observations are walked through before anything is finalized. Mild disagreements are normal; unresolved material items are documented.
  6. Report issuance. After remaining fees clear, we issue the auditor’s report and management letter. Working papers stay confidential under our retention policy.

Where this differs from a short review

Internal control reviews and inventory observation use a shorter path—kickoff, field days, memo—without a statutory opinion. Due diligence follows the deal calendar and data-room access rather than a fixed year-end close.
